Savcor closes a deal with Botnia and the Brazilian subsidiary will command implementation of a forest management system in Uruguay

 -Finnish paper and pulp company with operations in Latin America chooses Zenith due to its technical superiority and global presence

São Paulo, July 22, 2009 - Botnia, a Finnish paper and pulp company, and Savcor, a supplier of forest IT, have signed an agreement to begin a forest management project in Uruguay. The project’s main objectives are to obtain gains in productivity and control of costs in Botnia’s forest operations.

Botnia chose Savcor’s solution due to its global presence and because it is the largest IT provider for the forest sector in the world. The project with Savcor includes annual resources for maintenance and support, which together with implementation, will be managed by Savcor Forest Ltda, a Brazilian branch of the Savcor Forest Group. The main aim of the project is to renew the operative wood procurement system of Botnia’s Uruguay operation.

Savcor’s Forest Management System, Zenith, covers the entire forest value chain from Register and Inventory modules all to way to Operational Planning, Operational Control, Contract Management, Technical Recommendations and Raw Material Management. In addition Savcor represents a powerful optimization software provided by Remsoft, a Canadian company.
