AIR CONTENT MEASUREMENT
Savcor air content measurement technology is based on entrained air bubbles attenuation of ultra high frequency sound in the pulp and paper machine furnish. The attenuation is very sensitive to stabilized air bubbles, but insensitive to solid material. A compression method is used to measure the entrained air and expansion method to determine total amount of air. In the expansion method, the dissolved gases are released and can thereby be measured in addition to entrained air.
The measurement is performed on-line, making the control of de-aeration and defoamer chemicals more efficient than with conventional sampling methods typically used. Continuous measurement data is also useful for process development and troubleshooting.
